ABU HAIL BUILDING

I assigned as project conductor and lead design from the concept
design to the production of Tender Documents, responsible for
developing design, managing and reviewing design teamwork, and
communicating with client.
This three-storey mixed-use building is located in the old commercial
center of Dubai on a plot of land of (232) square metres, overlooking
two main streets from the northeast side. The project aims to provide
residential apartments for middle-class expatriates in Dubai and
shopping facilities on the ground floor. The design aims to create a
modern, visually attractive building while maintaining the spirit of the
surrounding buildings, Dubai's traditional architecture and a simple
facade. The use of sandstone cladding, which is sandy and grey, is a
common building material and has positive thermal performance in
the building envelopes in most of the Dubai building folds. Recessed
areas in the main elevations allow for shading of the glazing and
privacy area of the balconies as well.
