Dr. Osman M Elkheir

Chairman

Ph. D. in architecture, Human Settlements, and 47 years of experience in planning and design of various types of building projects inside and outside Sudan, as well as research and teaching. This included contributing to major projects of master plans, design works, assessment of existing buildings and rehabilitation programmes. Got training in England, Germany and Sweden. Awarded several architectural prizes and decorated with the Palmes académiques, Chevalier emblem, from the Republic of France. Contributed to the Encyclopedia of Vernacular Architecture of the World, Oxford University. Examined and supervised more than 70 Masters and Ph. D degrees in addition to assessing B. Sc. graduation projects of the Faculty of Architecture, UoK. Ex-co-chairman of Arc.Peace International and president of ArcPeace Sudan. Authored many papers and presentations, co-author of chapters in five books, translator of four books and author of two (one under printing) Representative in Sudan of the Swedish Sudanese Association. Volunteer in many NGOs.
